Un des buts de cet ouvrage est de préciser l’impact réel des effluents de tannerie sur l’environnement, en essayant d’avoir une idée plus fine du devenir des polluants, sans négliger les effets globaux sur le milieu naturel.
Pour chacun des chapitres, après la présentation du problème, sont évoquées les possibilités de prévention et de traitement adaptés de façon à réduire, autant que possible, les nuisances associées à la fabrication du cuir.

One of the aims of this book is to specify the real impact of tanning effluents on the environment by attempting to give a more accurate picture of the fate of pollutants and of their overall effects on receiving waters.
In each of the chapters, the problem will be set forth and the possibilities outlined for preventing and treating the nuisances related to leather manufacture so as to reduce them to the minimum.
